Survival kit
The idea of the survival kit is to provide the exchange students some things that are necessary but expensive to buy and difficult to bring with. Survival kit is offered by Tamko and Clint. The tutor who picks up an exchange student will also arrange the survival kit.
The kit is meant for exchange students who are staying in Finland for maximum of one year.
There are two types of kits: normal and "minikit". The minikit is for exchange students who live at Toas apartment at Tuomiokirkonkatu. Minikits don't have the sheets for the bed, because the apartments have their own. Otherwise the kits are the same.
Exchange students who want to have the kit inform their personal tutors about it and the tutor will then reserve a kit for them. After arriving to Finland the exchange student will have to go and pay a deposit fee for the kit at Tamko office on the first workin day.
Most of the money is refunded when the kit is returned at the end of the exchange studies. If the kit is however returned untidy (ie. dishes are not done, sheets are dirty) or something is missing or broken, the deposit fee will be kept as a compensation.
